MITI was founded by two women, Karola Sisask (founder, Legal & Compliance) and Viktorija Suslova (co-founder, Fund Services), who possess extensive expertise in financial and legal realms, including fund accounting, audits, fund structuring, and AML/KYC.
How would you describe your field of expertise?
We do compliance and fund administration – topics which may seem like a complex foreign language to some. But interestingly, all companies operating under an activity license are required to have compliance processes, and it is not very easy to find full-time employees (nor is it always necessary), so our services really help asset managers to comply with regulations and keep their businesses running. Our expertise includes fund registration, licensing, KYC/AML and providing related training, performing Back Office functions, full fund administration etc.
What do you enjoy most about your work? What are the biggest "wins"?
We are proud to be a part of the active growth of our clients, supporting them at all stages and tailoring the services to suit their global ambitions. It is enjoyable to be able to simplify processes for our clients.
The biggest wins are the exciting projects we have been involved with and the up-and-running processes that actually help our clients to achieve their business goals. MITI's team has led projects involving fund re-domiciliation, launching new funds, and obtaining activity licenses.
How do you see the future of your field?
We think that outsourcing will grow - outsourcing certain tasks allows asset managers and startups to gain insights from experts and access the best tools at reasonable prices. Clients can benefit from our personal, boutique approach in a largely standardised industry.
